  • Abstract

LimbWatch is a distal perfusion monitoring platform designed to improve early detection of limb ischemia in high-risk hospitalized patients. Current surveillance often depends on intermittent, operator-dependent bedside pulse checks using palpation or Doppler, which can be inconsistent, labor-intensive, and vulnerable to delayed recognition of vascular compromise. LimbWatch aims to provide continuous, objective, and standardized monitoring of distal perfusion, enabling earlier identification of circulatory deterioration in settings such as post-vascular intervention, critical care, and other high-risk inpatient environments. By reducing reliance on manual checks and improving the timeliness of detection, LimbWatch has the potential to enhance patient safety, support clinical decision-making, decrease nursing burden, and help prevent avoidable tissue loss and major limb amputation.
