OB residents and fellows, anesthesiology residents, NICU nurses and OB nurses train together in managing OB codes and critical scenarios. The course emphasizes effective teamwork, communication and resource management. Simulations can occur in-situ (in the L&D unit) or in the simulation center.

Course Objectives

1. Discuss teamwork and communication skills during obstetrical emergencies
2. Review documentation and patient care logistics within actual clinical environment
3. Formulate an assessment and plan in an acute situation
4. Practice technical skills useful in infrequently encountered clinical scenarios
