  • Poster Abstract

The Center for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD), David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA supports the continuing education needs of the medical community by providing high-quality, evidence-based activities designed to narrow the professional practice gaps of its learners. In 2023 CCPD accredited 114 live-courses engaging 3,005 physicians and over 4,000 non-physician learners. CCPD works in collaboration with the medical community to offer robust educational experiences across multiple educational channels. Interdisciplinary collaboration within continuing medical education (CME) is essential for fostering comprehensive patient care. Accredited continuing medical education (CME) plays a crucial role in patient outcomes and assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in bridging practice gaps. By bringing together experts from diverse medical specialties and disciplines with health professionals we work collaboratively to apply the necessary criteria's to plan and deliver effective education. The evaluation of educational activities is critical to assessing their impact on clinical practice and patient outcomes. CCPD's utilization of participant evaluations aims to measure the effectiveness of its programs in facilitating changes in clinical practice among physicians. These evaluations serve as mechanisms, enabling CCPD to collaborate with course chairs and coordinators to enhance the relevance and efficacy of future educational initiatives. By analyzing participant feedback and outcomes data, CCPD can tailor educational content to address identified practice gaps and ensure alignment with current clinical guidelines and best practices. In summary, through ongoing evaluation and collaboration with medical professionals, CCPD strives to continuously improve the quality and relevance of its educational offerings, ultimately advancing patient care and supporting lifelong learning among healthcare providers.
